Styling Animal Prints for Fall on

While I love a good edgy look from time to time, I seem to be in more of a softer style phase these days, which is one of the fun things about fashion, right?….the fact that your style can shift and change to reflect your mood, seasons of life, etc.

One of the prints that’s really on trend this season is snakeskin. Kinda edgy and bold, right? I thought so too until I came across this neutral/nude version recently. Who knew snakes could be soft and feminine? Ha! I think the trick to softening up a strong print like this one is to add a couple girly elements.

The ruffle and tie detail on this wrap dress really help to tone down the edginess a bit. As soon as I put it on, I knew a pair of sassy tall boots would be fun with it.

By now, I think most of us have finally shifted over to the mindset that “Leopard print is a neutral”, but how do you feel about wearing this season’s snakeskin trend?

If you’re not sure how you’d style them, here are a couple tips to help you out:

| ONE |

Start small. Think a budget-friendly snakeskin small bag OR maybe some cool mules or boots (no matching bag and shoes here though. Overkill.). No major commitments equals low pressure.

|  TWO  |

Pair it with a great solid color knit for fall. A great cozy sweater with a snakeskin print skirt and booties would be a great look for the season.

Opt for smaller scale snakeskin prints as they are easier to pull off than larger versions. Also, look for soft design details like pretty wrap styles to help tone down the overall feel.
