My new motto this year has been “say yes, figure out the details later”. So, when I got a surprise invite to join the Gibsonlook team for a photoshoot 4.5 hours away less than 48 hours before I had to be there, my first thought right off the bat was to say yes, no matter the obstacles! And guys, I am so glad I did. What a wonderful day connecting, laughing, crying (yes, I did a little of that too, but no surprise there lol) and creating pretty content to share with all of you.

Below is a mix of the gorgeous product photographs by the talented Michelle Rice Photography, as well as, a few phone captures of mine.

A bit about the brand…

I was introduced to the Gibsonlook brand a couple of years ago and I’m consistently impressed with how well-thought out their collections are each season. Whether you’re running kids to the carpool, have a business meeting, headed on vacation, attending a dressy event…..they have thought of it all for the busy woman’s lifestyle. It truly is a lifestyle brand for every season and occasion in your life. To say that I love and appreciate it as a busy mom myself, would be a massive understatement. When I have a function to be at and I need to feel confident and pulled together, I’m likely going to reach for my notched collar blazer or stretch knit neutral moto jacket. These are both solid pieces that I always feel my best in.

Ok, so the photoshoot day…

I arrived the night before at the C. Baldwin Hotel which is a really lovely place to stay with the most adorable restaurant called Rosalie inside (and a cute coffee bar as well). I didn’t get a chance to dine in, but I did grab a Caesar salad there late that evening and took it back to the room. So delicious!

Wednesday morning, we started the busy day with brunch at Little Hen in the River Oaks district, which was a girls’ day out dream spot, by the way. Amazing food and espressos. You can bet I will be going back there again to dine and shop all the upscale stores there in that area.

We shot our brunch looks there near Little Hen, got a few more looks around the beautiful area surrounding the restaurant and then finished off the last of our photos at the grounds of The C. Baldwin Hotel. After some time to regroup (and let’s be honest, post some social content from our day!) we changed into our looks for drinks to celebrate and a nice dinner out.

You always know the mark of a great time when the conversation was so good that you forgot to take photos with your phone, right? lol That’s kind of the story with our dinner at Steak 48 to end the day. We honestly got too caught up in family and life talk to document that amazing food we had, but man, was it incredible!

Thank you so much to the Gibsonlook team for such a beautiful day and evening!

While I loved the delicious food and beautiful clothing, my favorite part of this day were definitely the connections I got to make with some other fellow creators and the friendships that were made. Truly exactly what my heart needed at the exact right moment. Audrie Dollins, Michelle Rice, Sienna Boshard, Daphine Bush, Wanda Stephanow, Kate Robinson, and Roselyn Weaver. These fabulous, down-to-earth ladies brought so much warmth, positivity and support to this day! Beautiful experience from start to finish and I hope I get the chance to do it again soon!
