While I’ve always been pretty diligent where skincare is concerned(not sure I’ve ever slept in makeup…just can’t physically rest til I know it’s all off!), the older I get, the more serious I take the kinds of things I put on my face to cleanse and protect it from sun exposure, etc.
If you’re anything like me, the skin struggle is at its peak during the winter months. The cold drier air holds less moisture and humidity, making it difficult to keep the skin balanced. No doubt about it, skin can take a real beating from all the outdoor elements. And couple that with the dry central heating that gets pumped into our homes and offices every day, and your skin can get out of whack in a hurry. There’s nothing worse to me than having the heater on at night while I’m in the bed and it just blowing that dry, hot air on my face, even more if the heater fail, and for fixing a water heater noise is better to get a service online for this. Talk about wake me up out of a dead sleep!
I love finding new products that help solve these pesky problems, which is why I was so excited about trying the newest skincare line from Skinfix (available exclusively at Ulta). This company has its origins dating back to the 1850’s with a highly coveted skin healing ointment. After many generations of passing down the secret formula, the great-great-great daughter of Thomas Dixon began Skinfix Inc. I think this pretty much sums up what they are all about in a nice little nutshell.
“Skinfix products use a unique combination of vitamins, minerals, emollient oils and powerful, active, natural pharmaceutical grade ingredients that restore the lipids, protect the skin barrier and heal – all at once. No other skincare products contain the number of active natural ingredients that Skinfix does. And we do it all without fragrance, irritants, and most importantly, WITHOUT STEROIDS.” ~Skinfix Inc.
Here are the four Skinfix products I’ve been using for the past 6 days(morning and evening):
Now keep in mind that all of these products are no less than 96.5% natural with NO parabens, sulfates, silicones, gluten, dairy, or synthetic fragrances or dyes.
Right off, my initial thoughts were how gentle and fresh the products felt and smelled(like fresh cucumbers!). I love a great foaming cleanser that doesn’t leave your skin feeling dried out and this one really does the job nicely. Confession. I’m a total serum junkie….so, I really liked that the Moisture Boost Serum is in more of a lotion-like consistency that soaks into your skin quickly and leaves you with that “dewy” feeling. Adding the Hydrating Lotion immediately following the serum makes you feel like you’re really locking in all that yummy moisture.
The Brightening Eye cream is the real star here, in my opinion! The skin around my eyes tends to get really dry(sometimes flaky) in the winter and the eye cream hydrates SO well in that area. And while I’ve only been using it for a short period of time, I feel like it gives my eyes a nice brightening effect. Kinda like a morning cup of coffee for your under eyes! Wakes those babies up! Ha!
I have to say that I’m really looking forward to continuing on with this regimen and seeing where it takes my skin. Oh, the other thing I love about it? It’s reasonably priced AND I can pick it up at any time at my local Ulta(online works too!).
Thankfully, being in your 30’s, 40’s and 50’s doesn’t look like it use to(whew!) and I think that’s in major part to companies like Skinfix that offer great natural products to help keep that youthful, healthy appearance that we all strive for.
Cheers to healthy, well HYDRATED skin!!

Thanks so much! It was new to me too, but I’m so glad I tried it. I love the fact that it’s gentle yet still effective and without all the chemicals! 🙂
I totally agree how important skin care is, the sooner the better!
Yes! Gotta be diligent about it and starting with it in your early years makes such a difference!
