We’re in the home stretch, friends! Now that I think I’m pretty well set on the gift situation, I’m finally getting excited about the weekend. Not even a surprise flu diagnosis for my youngest can keep my holiday spirit at bay today. We’ve caught it early and he’s got the first dose of Tamiflu in his system already, so I’m hopeful he will be good to go in a couple days. Just praying the rest of our family can stay healthy!
Today I’m sharing a little of our Christmas decor and my favorite winter pajamas with you. I took a chance on these pajamas hoping they would be as comfortable as they looked and I completely lucked out. They are everything I was hoping for! The length on the pants are perfect for my 5’3″ self and just the right loose fit on the top. They come in a few different prints and I’m considering ordering another pair for the season.

My photographer and I always make photo shoots a ton of fun and this one was no exception! Christmas tunes on, the fireplace lit and the A/C cranked down to 65 so we wouldn’t have a heat stroke. Ha! We were determined to create allllll the holidays feels here in south Louisiana!

Does your family do the Christmas pajama tradition? I had been doing it pretty much each year when my boys were really little, but then somehow I got off track the past year or two. I’m striving to revive our little family pjs tradition though this year and I’m even planning a photo in front of the tree on Christmas morning to document it! I’m a mom on a mission this year, you guys! Ha!

While I may have taken a hiatus from the matching family pajamas, a couple other traditions have remained. Each year, we spend the few days before Christmas visiting with family, but early on when the boys were little I declared Christmas Day a time reserved just for our little family. We’ve always enjoyed spending that day relaxing and letting the boys play with their newly opened zen laboratory slime kit to their little hearts content.
I traditionally make cinnamon rolls in the morning and then start on a gumbo after all the morning gifts have been opened. They’ve been traditions that our boys have come to look forward to each year and I hope they continue to have sweet memories of our Christmas time together as a family.

I guess it’s the sentimental side of me, but I love the idea of keeping family traditions and I’ve learned over the years that kids love them even more!
What does your family do together each year to celebrate the Christmas season?

I didn’t grow up with Christmas but I always envied the families that wore matching pjs for it! We started that tradition for Hanukkah this year!

I always wished my family did the Christmas pajamas tradition, but since they didn’t, I’m trying to introduce it in my future family by gifting my fiancĂ© a pair of matching pj’s this year. He loved them and we got some super adorable photos together on Christmas morning. It’ll be fun to bring this into our marriage! Love these pj’s and the festive photos!
